Q. Does the IELTS Speaking test check the general knowledge of the candidate?
A. No IELTS Speaking doesn't check the general knowledge of the candidate. It evaluates proficiency in English on four essential criteria mentioned earlier. For example, your examiner will not ask you who the first president of your country was. But, your examiner may ask you what qualities are required to be a good nation president. Or what would you do first if you were selected as the president of your country?
{You should give your personal opinion}
Q. Can I mug up (learn by heart) some answers to possible questions before my IELTS speaking Exam?
A. It is a good idea to practice possible speaking questions before your speaking exam however, I suggest that you shouldn't try to memorize answers to any question because IELTS examiners are well trained to detect whether the candidates give you honest answers or memorized answers. if you give a memorized answer, your examiner will turn immediately to different topics and this might will affect your assessment.
